The First camera being put to practical use was the brainchild of Louis Daguerre.

Daguerre's patent was acquired by the French Government, which announced the invention was a gift "Free to the World"The camera popularly known as a "Daguerreo-type," was 'baptised' (if i can use that word) at the French Academy of Science on August 19, 1839.

A camera of this type, made by Susse Freres of France, was found in an attic in Germany. The camera was auctioned in Vienna on May 26, 2007 for nearly $800,000.

Original list price $50!!!

Any guesses?? Well no rewards for guessing this one.Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima is a photograph which is both historic and momentous.Taken on February 23, 1945, by Joe Rosenthal, this shot depicts five United States Marines and a U.S. Navy corpsman raising the flag of the United States atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.

It became the only photograph to win the Pulitzer Prize for Photography in the same year as its publication, and ultimately came to be regarded as one of the most significant and recognizable images of the war, and possibly the most reproduced photograph of all time.

We will be soon up ,and kicking.....

Today's trivia : Did you know that France issued a stamp on 24th April of 1939.

The stamp shows Niecephore Niepce (L), Louis J. M. Daguerre (R) and F. Arago (in the middle) while he announces at the meeting of Academie Francaise the invention of photography (January 1839). The stamp was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of photography.

Yeah ,the gossip you jus heard is true ......We r planning to start a website dedicated to photography.Did you know Berenice Abott took pictures of architectural importance in New York City in the 1930s or that prostitutes spoke a different language in the prints of E J Bellocq.
Well neither did i till i thought why not make this a mission ......To let Photography be considered more of a passion than a ritual done only when occasions arise.

Why not capture something and let the time be frozen in for eternity......

Why about photography would be a difficult question to answer though all i can say is its like asking a lover, why love in the first place.Because we could connect with it.Because Pictures convey a lot more than word could ever do and yes because its our first love.

So whether u hate us or love we wish u review/visit our website and do keep mailing us so that we can keep growing......
And yes do suggest a good name for the website.......Best entries would be rewa.......er oops .Its recession so all i can say is they will be acknowledged properly!!!!We will keep u posted on more......
